Hi there! Now a short reference about 1905. Canon manga depicts the episode of Russian “bloody Sunday”, but the 1905 Revolution meant much more, not only for Russia, but for many countries under the Russian Empire.

By the way... To explain these panels in just a few words is difficult, basically, becase to summarize a revolution in two pages is almost impossible :icononionfailplz:
Bloody Sunday was the straw that broke the camel´s back in an opressive environment full of social shortcomings. Revolutions do not happen like, now, a revolution. Actually, there was discomfort along the Russian Empire. Peasants (still the base of Russian economy) demanded land, the proletariat in the main industrial focus demanded economical and social reform and strikes used to be common, even before Bloody Sunday. Liberals demanded political reforms, and nations demanded autonomy. The aftershocks of Russo-Japanese war and the intense russification increased the discomfort.

The active phase of the revolution began with Bloody Sunday and lasted for years, not only 1905. Strikes happened along the main cities; peasants occupied lands; soldiers returning from the East rose againts the regime. In february 1905 Russians were defeated in Mukden; in may, a new defeat in Tsushima. And, in june, the uprising of battleship Potemkin´s crew. Russian People had said "enough." But Russian Empire didn´t listen.

The revolution quickly spread along the Empire. Poland, probably the major center of fighting against the Russian Empire, lived strikes and protests against russification, and disturbances that culminated in the Lódz insurrection.
In Finland, general strike of 1905 was followed by the demand of political freedom, the abolition of the Diet of Finland and the end of russification policy. Latvian peasants rose in confront towards nobility. Estonia demanded national autonomy.
Russian Empire crushed the uprising with executions of civilians and punitive detachments and executions of the military personel who mutineed.
Nations fighted to get what they were asking for and they get some reforms...
but...
