Thinking about the best way of telling about the German Empire, finally came out this idea, perhaps not the best, when the whole story is about the tensions of July 1914, now more flashbacks. (And more, and more) But it is important to know about the sharp relationship among Germany and France, to understand what happened in 1914.
The episode is about the Agadir crisis and the late German efforts to dominate a colonial empire, another brick on the international tensions and one more cause of WWI.
The name of the ship is SMS "Panther". I was not sure about the colours, so I looked for some colour schemes in German warships in early XXth. century, and found these. But it may be wrong
"1914" is a doujinshi based upon Hidekaz Himaruya´s "Hetalia Axis Powers" stories and characters.

I love the way you drew West here. I'm guessing he's younger: there's a sense of freedom older Germany doesn't have, and I love the look on his face and his mused hair. This is such a gorgeous page. ^^
Edit: I also love their separate suits so much. Prussia's is more uptight while Germany's is less flashy. So cool!
